Start with simple checks

Try a cable and adapter you know work, inspect them for damage and test another socket. If the phone does not respond, follow Apple’s model-specific forced-restart instructions.

Lint may block the port

Compacted debris can stop the connector from seating properly. Do not use metal tools or pour liquid into the port. If the cable feels loose, a service inspection is safer.

When to request a diagnosis

If charging cuts in and out, the percentage remains stuck or the issue persists with known-good accessories, the port, battery or charging circuit may need testing.
